Lesedi Hlahane (22) died after being allegedly beaten by shop owners in Dunnottar.

The 22-year-old Lesedi, who his family claimed he had the mind of a two-year-old, was allegedly mistaken for a thief, locked inside a shop, and brutally assaulted by shop owners on 20 February.After fighting for his life in a coma at Pholosong Hospital for three weeks, Lesedi died on Tuesday, 10 March.

Now, the community has shut down shops belonging to Pakistani foreign nationals, accusing the police of protecting the ā€œkillersā€.It’s alleged that four boys robbed the shop and ran past Lesedi as he was walking in.

The small town of Dunnottar is reeling after the brutal killing of 22-year-old Lesedi Hlahane, who was allegedly beaten to death by shop owners after being mistaken for a thief.

Lesedi, who had the mental capacity of a two-year-old, was locked inside a shop and assaulted on 20 February.
